Rooster trouble

Hi everyone, I have 3 silkies one is a rooster and 2 females they are approx 7 to 8 months old, I have noticed recently the rooster is dropping his wing and scuttling about then grabs either of the females and drags them by the head or jumps on them, they screech and run away from him this is happening several times a day, one of the females won’t come out of coop for a while as he sits at the bottom and the other girl will sit at the bottom and not go in at night, what can I do debbie xx

He is breeding the hens, it's normal behavior. His hormones make him a little bit aggressive about it.
It would be fine to separate or get rid of the rooster. He will most likely calm down in a few weeks or so, he has to get through "puberty".

Thank you so much for your reply I can separate them in the pen during the day but not in the coop, would that be ok x

Dropping his wing is like his courtship dance, and jumping on their back is part of, well you know, you may need to separate him for a while so he can calm down. But I am letting you know in advance, he will always want to mate with the hens. Good luck...

He also probably needs more girls or he will want to mate repeatedly with only two girls around.

He's just trying to breed. Its normal.
Dropping his wing is a dance, while jumping on their backs is breeding. You might want to get more hens or he can overmate, and can potentially hurt your silkies if he doesn't have enough hens. Or you could just get rid of him.
