I have a bearded d'anver roo in with eight 6 week old cochin bantams. I would have bet money that 3 were girls and the other 5 were boys. This is based on the smallish, yellowish combs on the girls and larger, redder combs on the rest.
Today the bearded d'anver roo grabbed the back of the neck and jumped on the back of one of the "boys"
Is it possible that it really is a pullet? Or is it normal behavior for a rooster to fake mate a cockerel?
