My rooster is unable to stand on his own. His legs are strong and he can walk if I hold under his breast cage. He has been eating and drinking well. I am giving him vita b, eggs, yogurt, pumpkin and anything else I can think of to make him better. From what I have read it doesn't sound like Mareks since his legs are strong and he can be mobile w/ assistance. Can anyone suggest anything else I can try to give him the best chance? Thanks!

Well nobody posted but I am happy to say that Lucky my rooster is able to stand for the first time in two weeks, he can only take a few steps before his legs give out. But he is on the road to improvement.

Hi,
I am glad your rooster is doing better! When you say you are giving him vita b- what form? I have a hen with curly toes and have been giving her polyvisol, but she is not improving. I need another source of riboflavin soon! Thanks.

When you say you are giving him vita b- what form?

Our grocery store is Albertsons, and I bought Sundown Naturals High Potency B Super Maxi Complex.
Supplement facts read:
Thiamin 15mg
Riboflavin 17mg
Niacin 200mg
Vitamin b-6 20mg
Folic Acid 400mcg
Vitamin B-12 60mcg
Pantothenic Acid 100mg
Calcium 60mg

I have been giving him 1 tablet dissolved in a bit of water in a syringe (w/ needle removed) once a day in the morning. I have also been giving him half a capsule of St. Johns Wart aka Hypericin (300mg) in the afternoon (same method as b). Other than that just liquids, normal food, some yogurt, cottage cheese and pumpkin. He is still wobbly on his legs but he is in the pasture for the first day in two weeks with his hens and seems to be feeling much better. I have no idea if anything I did really helped, but I wasn't ready to loose him so it was worth a try. If you want to give that vitamin b a try and you can't find it, pm me your address and I can mail you some, not sure what I will do with the 80 pills that are left!
