I want to preface this by saying that I am certainly no expert on anything chicken. But if I was you, I would check into the testing that was mentioned before, to see if it is able to verify Mareks. Because your decision on what to do with both your rooster and moving forward with chickens seems to really depend on getting a definitive diagnosis. I am sorry to hear about your rooster. If you do not want to give up on your rooster, it did seem to do well with the vitamins. Nothing says that you must give up now.

Thank you so much you just made me cry. I want to do the test and know for sure and I was hoping she would do the bloodwork part because I don’t feel capable but she said she wasn’t aware of any test and that I would be wasting my money. We really don’t want to give up on him and want to do what’s best, my husband is hell bent on making his lil rooster better he LOVES him this is really heart breaking and I never understood when I would read on hear about losing a flock let alone 1 or 2 to Marek because I had my original flock over 8 years with no issues it’s rough.
