I've got some stuff called "Pick No More" which also turns him purple. It's a very sticky ointment. I put that on him and they left him alone for a while until it wore off. Is the Blue Kote better? Does it last longer?

It does last longer, I tried the pick no more and it didn't work here when my hens were pecking my roos wattles[why I have no idea] but using it around the face you have to use a qtip or cotton to make sure it doesn't get into their eyes.

Well that answers that. I doubt it could be the diet. How strange that they just want to pick on him all of a sudden.

I went out to the coop one morning and caught a few hens pecking one of my roos wattles they had him bloody and he was just sitting there letting them, crazy thing. So i put the Blue Kote on him and it stopped I have no idea why he even let them or why they started.
