Rooster with flakey skin....

My silkie rooster has flakey and dry skin all under his waddle and ears.. its really gross idk what it is.. its gotton colder and i read somewhere that your suppose to put vasaline on his waddle so it doesnt get frost bite... do u think maybe he had a reaction to it?

It doesn't look like that vaseline should have caused that reaction. Many people do use this method for the chickens' wattles and comb. So it should be fine. But I guess there's always an exception to the rule. Hopefully your rooster will get better and be okay. Good luck.
