I have a rooster, Lil Roo, that has something wrong with his beak. It looks to me like maybe a fungus is eating his beak away, and it's growing like a mass inside his "mouth". He is the only one and we also have Big Roo and he's fine. Big Roo seems to take care of Lil Roo, they cuddle up adn sleep together. It's strange becase Lil Roo used to be very onry and loved to come after me when I went out in thier yard. Now he is a little angel. I pick him up and he follows me around eating out of the feed buckets I'm carrying around. I think the mass is making it harder for him to eat so I get him up away from the goats and horse and other chickens and he just eats away out of a bucket.
I'll also add, he just got over a pretty bad pest infestation. He was fine one day and down the next. He seems fine now so I guess what I did helped him get better, but his beak. I feel so sorry for him.
I'll try to get a picture if you need to see one. I tried searching for this problem and couldn't find anything.
Thanks for your advice.
