Rooster with hens

Some roosters will chase/peck younger pullets and chicks. Some are particularly violent and insistent when mating hens. If you have younger birds in your flock at the moment and/or your roo has been pulling hens' feathers out, the flock will need as much space in their coop and run as possible. It's good to have multiple levels and areas in a run where chickens can escape to and hide if necessary. Multiple feeders and waterers is also helpful.

He is not pulling feathers or leaving tracks on them.
I believe there is enough space. I was considering putting up a couple of roosting bars in the run.

They are 8 months old.
If he was going to be a problem, you'd have seen it by now.
Curious why you think he should maybe be separated when not ranging?
Coop does look a bit tight for 9 birds, but can't really see it all.
If run is predator proof, roosting in run might be good in your climate

The coop is 4x8 feet. The run is 8x10 feet.
The chickens are only free ranging from 3:00 p.m. until dark.
