Rooster with large comb and head shaking

That's an interesting thought! I never considered it might be a display behavior.

That was the first thing i was thinking. I think most animal behaviors have a meaning or a purpose.

Ok my rooster has a comb that's a cross between a round pea shaped comb and a large mohok like comb. It's both. The pea thing is in the middle and it is floped to one side covering an eye and pulling on the other side of his face. He's seriously trying to shake it off his head. I don't think it's behavior since he isn't around other birds. I think it might be a temperature or blood flow thing. How did you get some of the darn thing removed?

I have a rooster with a pea comb and he does this all the time. It doesn't hang in his eyes or anything. I came here hoping for an explanation or confirmation for of what I think it is. I think he's just being sassy. He's not aggressive at all but he'll shake his head and flap his wings when he sees things he doesn't like but he's not scared of. Namely me, the cats or dogs if they're outside the fence. It's some kind of communication. I feel like he's just being sassy though.
