Hi everyone! Looking for insight on this. I was cuddling with my rooster Vinny tonight and caught a look at the front of his legs and noticed his scales right about his feet in the front look raised. He had not shown any symptoms of illness. He is eating, drinking, and behaving regularly. I have not noticed any issues with his walking or anything like that, but after doing research on different chicken pests, diseases, and other ailments over the last year to know what to be on the look out for, it looks like pictures I’ve seen of a scaly leg mite infection. I’ve attached pictures for you guys to check out and see if you guys agree this is what I could be dealing with. He is a year old bantam frizzle Cochin. Let me know if you need any other information. Thanks as always for your expertise and advice☺

Hard to tell with feather footed birds. The scales look dry and a few are raised.
It won't hurt to rub some vaseline into and under the scales of his legs once a week. This will kill SLM if that's the problem, otherwise, just count it as a spa and cuddle time :)
