This is my 8 1/2 month old cockerel, Coco.

Here's what his booty looked like yesterday (03/21/21) after I squeezed as much of the pus out as I could before he had had enough. 🥺 poor baby was hurting.

and the pus that came out...

And here's what it looked like today (03/22/21) after cleaning it last night and leaving it be today.

Does anybody have any idea what this could be and/or how to treat it??? He absolutely hates anyone who pets across it (and this chicken loves his snuggles and being pet).

Thank for any help!!

Update [03/23/21]:
His gland is not as swollen and tough to the touch. He is still picking at it and making it bleed again. He seems agitated by it or maybe it is itching. He's still a happy chicken and doesn't seem affected in any other way.

I'm having the same thought. Can you locate the preening/oil gland that sits right at the base of the tail? It kinda looks like a little nipple to me. I can't think of anything else to call it
