Rooster with 'slime' in mouth.

Thanks again. I had given all of my chickens the Duramycin 10 for 5-7 days, but I'm not sure at what dose. I haven't noticed the slime in the rooster's mouth since it has cooled down a bit here. Also, if this helps, I saw the slime those 2 times at feeding/watering time only. He hasn't been acting sick anymore and neither are the hens. Should I still give them the Duramycin 10?

You are going to have to make this call. If it were me, I would, just in case. These diseases they get can be severe or mild and I believe this can be dictated by how quickly we respond to the symptoms seen.

I've seen this before with regurgitation. Water mixes with fluid in the crop and if they eat too much, too quickly, it gets regurgitated. The onset of hot weather can cause this to happen because birds drink more to cool down. Pay attention to the crop to see if it is full first thing in the morning before offering food. If it isn't full, offer feed for about 15 minutes and take it away. Wait a couple hours and observe the bird's behavior. If the crop is full first thing in the morning, reply to this thread and let us know.

I just stumbled upon this and thought I would add this... My ducks were all doing this today! The stupid things were foraging too actively in the heat and they had this mucus all around their beaks. I broke out the sprinkler and they had a ball. I don't know where you live, but if it has been as hot as it has been for me and Haunted55 than this could be a temporary thing. Hopefully this is all it is....
