Rooster with soft brown spot around nostril

I have noticed that my rooster has developed a soft brown area on his face around his nostril. The first time I saw it I picked some of it off and it was yellow. It has now come back and shows no signs of going away. I have attached pictures (both sides of his face are shown; only one side is affected). Any help is appreciated on what it is and what I should do.

It Looks like he got injured there and possibly got Infected.
