It's the rooster behind, who's looking away from the camera. I noticed he has a strange swollen foot and I would like answers as to what it is and how to treat it :( I would like to treat him myself if possible. He's 2 1/2 years old and aside from the foot he eats well, crows all the time, and thankfully I noticed he's gaining weight (he was very thin) and his feathers are glossy. He's acting healthy and everything but his legs are slightly wobbly. Could this be an early case of bumblefoot? The bump on his foot feels soft. How can I treat it? Where can I get the supplies (if I need any) to heal him? Please help my rooster, I want to treat him as quickly as possible.

I would get them off the wire since that can be hard on their feet, plus it looks like the droppings aren't going through the wire. Pododermatitis, also known as bumblefoot, can be caused by walking on droppings or in damp bedding. I would also look him over for any swelling of his hock joints, since MS or mycoplasma synovitis, an infection of the joints can cause swelling of one or both feet and legs. Bumblefoot is usually caused by staphylococcal infection, but E.coli and viruses can also cause arthritis in chickens. Here is some reading for you:
