Rooster with vent prolapse

I'm not sure how much outside time Sunny should have after surgery but I brought him out while I sat and watched today and he is like a new chicken.
So thankful to all of you for your compassion and advice! Here's hoping it all stays inside when the stitches come out on Monday!
Glad to see him enjoying some sunshine!

Just ad an update, Sunny had his sutures removed on Monday and appears to be all good. No prolapse recurrence as of yet. Here he is sunbathing with his two ladies.

Just thought I would update one last time. Sunny's prolapse returned. We took him to the vet and she took him to surgery to actually cut off the prolapse and reattach the intestine. Unfortunately, Sunny passed away as soon as he was put under anesthesia. She did CPR and wasn't able to bring him back. Rest in peace Sunny. You were a great roo and will be missed.

Thank you, we appreciate your update although we understand it can be difficult...especially when the update is not good news.

I'm so sorry about Sunny. He was a very fortunate rooster to have someone care for him as much as you did. :hugs
