So I bought a bunch of teenage chickens and they are La Bresses. I noticed that one of them who's comb had developed partially had a really thick comb so I was curious. At first I though that it might have been cross bred with a bird that has a thick comb at the base near the skull and ignored it. So my curiosity got the better of me then I caught it and investigated. I then realized that the back of the comb was inside of the rest of the comb and it was causing the base to become really fat. Should I try to pull it out? It's kinda stuck inside at the moment and is causing it to bulge outwards. The part that is bulging also appears to feel firmer. What should I do? Should I do anything at all?

Wow! Poor guy, I'll bet he's uncomfortable with that. Is it fused together? He might be better off in the long run if you separate it. I've seen dubbing before but don't have the heart to actually do it.
