we have a rooster that is eating the eggs. is he missing something from his diet or just developiong a very nasty habit?

Get some fake eggs, and put them in the nest. Or have roll-out nests, Roll out nest box plans these are great. Either one will work, but the roll out nest box should work faster

No, he is not missing anything from his diet if your feeding him a good feed

Try puting something nasty in an egg. I had a hen (Wynona) that had a terrible egg eating habit. I used black pepper, lots of it! He could be lacking calcium although I doubt it but, you could try a calcium supplement. Good luck!!!
