Ended up with two extra roosters this year. The Birchen maran is extremely rare; the black body feathers extend down the feet as per the European standard, with green and purple sheen. The normal red/copper plumage is replaced by silver/white instead.
These are NOT from the mass-market gene pool, but straight-run from local breeders if you're looking for studs.
I'm keeping a brother Birchen for my own use, so that's a testimony to their genetic goodness.
They don't have to go as a pair, but they have to go.
Not aggressive at all, although they don't particularly care to be picked up.
Big beefy healthy boys. I would just keep them if I had room, but I don't. They are going to be gorgeous, just Google adult pictures and you'll see what they'll turn into.
