Roosters behind bright red??

This is my head rooster. In fact, he is the only rooster in his flock. He occasionally runs into other flocks with their own head rooster but I’ve never seen anyone mess with him and he doesn’t mess with anyone. My birds spread out into the yard and have their own clicks and coops they go into at night. He sleeps in his own coop with 5 hens and a male guinea. What do you think happened to him? Is the guinea being an ass? What should I do?

I think you may have answered your own question. That looks like an injury of some kind and if it doesn’t improve soon then you may have to choose your rooster or the guinea.

Wow, that skin looks really unhappy.
Have you cleaned him up at all yet?

Put some Nu-Stock on it. It will heal it in no time and prevent picking and pecking at the same time. Shake the tube well and wear gloves when applying it.
