I have an Orpington rooster whose comb has started to flop over in the last week or so. I am not new to raising chickens but I have never seen this happen suddenly before. Any ideas why this is happening??

a couple of my roosters' combs were doing that for a while when they were a few months old but as they grew they stood up straight. not sure what caused it but they seemed to grow out of it as they matured. they were both buff orps. by the way

I have one like that also. He is a year old and one night he was fine, then the next morning his comb was folded over. I have no idea why either. He seems healthy and fine, he's still chasing hens, cats, and bugs. He eats, drinks, and poos normally too. I just put it off to the heat. If anybody has any other clues, I am also interested.

spydertoys, is it very hot where you are? One of my roos has a comb that normally stands up, but it's so dang hot it's flopping over a bit. Chickens lose heat thru their combs.

sorry for your loss
