Actually, size does matter in roosters. It's been studied that hens prefer roosters with larger combs when given options.

I used this when my roo got frostbite. It never swelled, it healed fast, and there was no infection. You apply one coat daily with a q-tip.

I used triple antibiotic with good results. But I applied it directly after the event, not days after the frost bite. Lots of folks on here suggest not doing anything at all and just leaving it be. Yup, that works too, but I expect it takes longer to heal...

I used tepezcohuite on mine, the ointment is black so it looked awful but its supposed to help heal and offer some discomfort relief. When the weather warmed he looked like the Fonz. I think it did help,it looks like he's going to lose maybe a third less comb spike than i anticipated.
