rooster's comb?

My rooster's comb keeps changing color at the tips(mainly the farthest ones) . Some times's it's purple some times it's normal itseems to change to purple when he's awake. It looks like he bruised it when it changes color. His comb is quite large though 3inches long and an inch high on a bantom. Could hids comb size cause the discoloration, I hasve no idea when he started as I have him with 3 girls in the basement under artifical light. He's moved upstairs due to him raping the girls so much they they constantly cried. He's roaming the house with a diaper bu he's a sweety so I'm keeping him.

I have a G. C. Marans whose comb and legs change color depending on how eggcited he is.

It's all blood flow, if you know what I mean.
