I have a Buff Orpington Rooster who all of a sudden sounds very high-pitched when he crows. He's about five months old, but he's been crowing for a while now so his crow sounded pretty normal. This only started a couple days ago. His voice in general seems higher. Any idea what's going on? He seems perfectly fine otherwise. He eating, drinking, mating, etc. His comb is red and upright, and his feathers are nice and shiny.

Maybe its purburty like teenage boys!!

He will only develop more as time moves on. He's a cockerel now & will become a roo at one year old. Take a picture of him now & when he becomes older you'll think wow. They change with age his spurs will get bigger his tail feathers more apparent plus he will hopefully get better at what he does with age.

That is what it is he is growing, the crow will continue to develop like he will, its perfectly normal I have some going thru it right now

Now he is breathing funny though. :(

I did notice he's been crowing pretty much nonstop for the past few days. Our other cockerel started getting out of the pen and free-ranging a few days ago, and I don't think he likes it. It's like he's crowing himself hoarse or something. Is this possible?
