My rooster has been getting more aggressive/protective maybe and attacking us. He has been spurring us and creating some serious injuries so instead of giving him away or putting him down I tried sparring muffs, the rubber kind. Well they worked great but only had them on for few days his right foot was red and swollen, so we got rid of them and will find a new approach with his aggressiveness. But his foot is still swollen, red area that looks like the scales are gone and some superficial dark red-purple area on the top of the foot. He does walk on it but it is like it is numb or painful. What can I do to fix this?

I don't have 1st hand experience with breaking a rooster from spurring people, but i remember reading this...when he attacks you pick him up and carry him around under your arm until he quits struggling to get away. Put him down and if he comes at you again you repeat the process until he just walks away when you put him down. Don't tease him to make him do it, let it be his choice. Try this a few days, if that doesnt work the more extreme way is when he attacks you grab him up, get him by the ankles and dangle him upside down until he stops moving, repeating every time he attacks. THe point is to make it unpleasant for him so he associates attacking people with an unpleasant experience. If this doesn't work he might make good chicken & dumplings :P
