I am new to chickens and purchased my first Tophats a few months ago. I purchased 4 two week old chicks. Two of the chickens have the red things (don't know correct name) hanging underneath their beaks. Would these be the Roosters since the other two do not have them? Do female Tophats have these red thing? Thanks!

The red things hanging under the head are called wattles and both hens and roosters have those although they usually start to grow earlier in cockerels than pullets. I've had chicks start to develop them at 2-3 weeks and that is an indication that chick is a cockerel since the pullets are usually 9-12 weeks before I see any sign of them. The red part on the top of the head is called the comb and while both genders have them, the roosters' will be much bigger and will develop sooner. If you post pics of your birds we can give you a better idea....
