Is there any homemade things you could even use to clean it? Everything is so expensive/not available in canada it makes it hard. :-/

Soap and warm water. Disinfect with the betadine you get from WM and try to find some hoof tar to put on it so he can go back to the flock.

I looked this up because I wanted to add SHT to my chicken first aid kit. It isn't readily available on my side of the pond. But it's the tar base that I think gets the job done. We do have lots of hoof tars State side.

@chicken4prez can you go to a local feed store/tack shop and find a suitable hoof tar? Don't get a dressing that is just used to make the hoof look pretty for shows but something that is for treating the hoof and contains tar.

I think most Pine Tars will do much the same DL.

Soap/water to start, you can use normal antibiotic ointment on it as well.

Wash it up with some warm soapy water, this will also take care of any blood that is on his feathers as well. Once you get that cleaned up and the blood stopped, post some photos.

Depending on the size of the cut/rip it may not need anything else but a clean up and let it scab over. If it needs anything applied - use a triple antibiotic ointment.

I've looked everywhere near me and I can't find any bluekote, is there another way to clean it?

Try and find some regular disinfectant hand soap, like Dial..that will work too. Then I would apply NuStock. Best magic goo in the world.
