I had two. One a very large, aggressive buff orpington, the other a Cochin bantim not much bigger than the hen's. They shared three hens. Literally. The buff would hope on a hen, then the Cochin would shove him aside and hop on. They didn't fight each other. But it was really hard on the hens. Soon their backs were defeathered. As the buff was too aggressive, flogging me and everyone else that dared walk across the yard, he had to go to the freezer. I had more hens coming along, but they were not mature before the buff took his leave. Now the lil Cochin rules the roost. He has 10 hens to look after. And once in a while he gets all full of himself and jumps up to kick me. But he's short and heavy, and only manages to reach above my ankles. Anyway, that's my two roo story. Here's a pic of the two roosters and a couple hens.

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

Generally no, but sometimes yes. It really depends on the roosters themselves. Some boys get along all of their days, some start out ok and go bad eventually. I would be more worried about the 2 roosters over mating the hens. The hens can only take so much mating before it kills them. They can't tolerate too much and I would worry about them more than these two boys. So my final answer is no on the 2 roosters in the same hen house. You would be better off getting one of these boys his own harem. The proper ratio of roo to hen is 1 to 8 to 10 hens.

Good luck and welcome to our group! :-)

We had five roos all together and they began fighting to see who was on "top" (they ended up in my soup bowl LOL)You might have a few struggles, but I would suggest you let them together and if they start fighting get rid of one.

If they grow up together it can be easier for them to get along. But as others have said, it can depend on the breed, and it can depend on the individual rooster!
Some of the tiniest roosters are brimming with the Might T!!
Having more than one rooster can increase the amount of crowing also.

I kept 3 buff roosters in one flock previously, and had no troubles. But even all 3 of them together could not keep 3 dogs from digging in and killing the entire flock on Thanksgiving day when we went to the grandfolk's house.

You should usually have about 10 hens per Roo to prevent bald backs and fighting. Right now we have 1 Adult Roo and 18 laying hens. We have 4 young Roos and about 30 pullets. We will keep the frizzle Roo and our barnyard mix, "Mr. fluffy".
