I am up to 14 chickens. I don't dare believe that they were all sexed correctly and are all female. So, how likely is it that I have to keep roos by themselves or do they get along in the flock? My dh doesn't want roosters at all but I doubt I can re-home them easily. If breed matters I have RIR, BLRW, and Lavender Orpingtons.

You can keep roosters in a flock depending on how many you have. Even 3 with 11 hens is probably fine. How old are your chickens?

You might have soem overbredding.Best to Seperate two and switch them out every couple months,or get rid of them.Rirs usually have difficult time getting along m,escpecially males.

Not sure but my understanding is 1 Rooster per 10 hens. More roosters means more wear and tear on the hens with missing back feathers and bare spots and possibly serious injury. You have some nice breeds, you may be able to rehome them. I had given my first rooster back to my breeder. (My breeder guarentees gender, traded me my cockerel for 2 pullets). He found a home immediately for him. It helped that the rooster was a Lavender Orpington. Post some good pics, maybe we can sex them.

Here they are.
