I have 5 week old frizzles. I want to confirm they are roosters before I have to find them a home.
Number one is my favorite of all the chicks, but unfortunately I can't keep roosters. Thank you for the help, maybe I will get lucky with #3I raise some frizzles too and I've had some surprises with big-combed hens. You have to remember a frizzle is a recessive-gene bred giant melting pot of a chicken mutt. You've probably got dozens of breeds in these things over time so it's hard to sex them based on normal characteristics. That said, I'd say 1 and 2 for sure are cockerels because a big comb is one thing, but those guys are knocking it out of the park in comb-land. 3 I'm on the fence with and 4 I'd say is likely a cockerel too.
1 is a cool bird. I have a few with that same stark white on black look. Got one with a white line down his back and he earned the name Skunk and is still in the flock.
