I am getting a roo and i was reading and they can do alot of damage to people and hens with their spurs.........should I not worry about them until they become a problem or should I some how get them taking off as a chick......... if they never become a problem to anybody should I just not worry about them at all?

I have never owned a Red Star, but from those who have, I heard great words about their temperment. You should have no trouble. But, with many Roo's IF you miss a feed time or are late they get mad and MIGHT let you know it. lolol

Lol....I'll have to be careful about feeding.....my friend had chickens and a roo stuck his spur to her daughter. Hope nothing happens to me

You can dremel them down to where they aren't sharp. Their toe nails are sharp too.

Yeah they are like any animal that scratches around. Those are some sharp nails.

Use a dremel tool for the spurs. As for damage to people, there will be quite a few who will attempt to attack humans, sharp spurs or no spurs, those little boogers can do some damage!

Oh........I dont want to do anything to the toenails, because they scratch with them ill do something about the spurs.......maybe the potato method.
