I have hens for eggs. I was told by the man at the feed store that if I don't have a rooster my eggs will be higher in colesteral, that they need to be fertilized. Is this true?

you only need a roo if you want fertile eggs for hatching.

Eggs don't need to be fertilized.
What do you think grocery stores sell? They sell unfertilized eggs.

I honestly don't know what that man has heard but he is wrong.

They are good either way.

Sounds to me like a sales pitch.
