From the picture in the dark it is hard to see, but are you talking about the overall color or dark patches on the comb? Favus a fungus can cause white or gray patches on combs wattles and ear lobes. I'm not sure if that is what you are talking about, but miconazole cream will treat favus. If the combs and wattles are turning black all over, that can be a sign of heart or breathing problems.
