Glad I saw this thread as this is something I've been thinking about with my coop build.

I was planning on using 2x4's but wasn't sure if I should do the 2 or the 4 up.

Think I'm going to go with 4 up.

I'm using the 4 down which mine like, but same reason mine bend. 2 up is probably not going to bend.

We went with 4 side up also. Haven't had any complaints haha!
