Hi all,

My gals who are 16 weeks old have taken to roosting on the edge of the nests and as a result end up filling the nest boxes with poop.

Easy to clean at this stage.... but they are gearing up to start laying and I don't want the poop in with the eggs!

Here is a look inside my coop.... I have their roost going across over to the nests. You can see the piece of wood in front of the nests where the are roosting now.

What can I do to stop them from roosting there.... should I do something to the nest boxes?? Change them etc????

Please let me know what you all think??

Thanks!!

If I'm seeing the picture right , long board is where you want them to roost? If so raise it so the Roost is higher than the nesting box board, they tend to pick the higher spot to roost. or lower the nest boxes, whichever works. I had my boxes w/o the landing board till they were ready to use them, but yours should be getting ready to use thiers now.
