i integrated 3 new hens to the flock about a month ago. they’re getting along fine, and learning their place in the pecking order.
the only real issue, if it’s an issue at all, is that they’re roosting on top of the nesting boxes at night.
the boxes have a slanted plywood roof on them, but there’s a small (~2”) flat spot where the boxes meet the wall.
some nights i go out and move them to the roost, but i’m not sure if they stay
there all night.
first question is how do i get them on to the roost instead of the nest boxes at night?
second question is if i can’t, are there any issues with them roosting on the boxes?
