I wasn't giving poop boards much thought because I didn't think there was all THAT much poo on a daily basis. I was replacing the pine shavings in my coop once a week. Soo I went to my wood shop and ripped a partial sheet of thin paneling I had on hand into strips to put under my roosts, just on the floor. Good golly!!!! I was shocked to see how much my 27 birds pooed over the course of one night. For a week now I've been putting them down in the evening while the flock is out to play, scraping the boards in the morning and setting them aside during the day. I'm now planning how I can install poo boards beneath my roosts and only have to scrape them in the mornings. My coop didn't smell much before but it doesn't smell at all now. I'm doing deep litter during the cold season for warmth and it's gonna be wonderful to have boards in place and only take a minute to scrape them clean and be done with my chores most days. Thanks for all the pics and great ideas!!
