Roosting preference

It's definitely brighter at the time of the picture, that's where the lights are. The chicken wire probably gives it the illusion of being more open. The other corner roost, is no more than an inch lower, if that. An aversion to dark corners maybe?

It a hunch based on our coop layout and changes we made. Of course how our girls reacted.

They do have preferences, that sometimes make no sense.
I'd put one single roost all the way across with a poop board underneath.
Doesn't need to be real high, mine are only about 3'.

Well, I raised the unused roost board as high as I could, without being too close to the ceiling, which was only 6-8 inches higher than the preferred roost board. I gave it 26 days, and still no takers. So this afternoon, I Y'ed another longer board in to the one they preferred, they took to it immediately. Silly birds!
