Roosting

I have 4 chicken that about 9-10 weeks old. They know how to roost as they roost under my patio table in my yard. When they go to the coop at night they choose to sleep in the hay on the floor. Not on the roost.. Is this ok for them not to roost at night...is there a flaw in my coop?? or are they ju

st doing what chickens do...their own thing?

At roosting time, pick up your chickens and put them on the roost until they learn to roost there on their own.
