Roosting

Hi all,

My three 5 week old chickens won't roost on the roosts I built for them. I have a roost out of 2X4 with 4 inch side flat every 12 inches. Do they prefer something different or are they too young? I attacked a picture for reference (right side of the picture). Any advise would be great.

At 5 weeks they'd need to be trained to roost, they're too young to think of it on their own.

At five weeks old they can physically roost if they want to, they just don't want to yet. Some people train them to roost, I don't worry about it. They will roost when they want to.
