Roosts in the run?

Should I put some branches, or logs out in the chicken run for my chickens to roost on in the sun light?

My gals do not roost in the sun; they prefer to lay in the sun on the ground with a wing stretched out. However, I do have lots of perches in shady spots in the run and they get used all the time.

A bit of trial and error is probably required to see which spot they prefer to use the most.

Chickens quite enjoy having things to climb on, roost on and explore in their environment so if you can accommodate that by placing some objects in the run, why not?
