    Rose combs are almost always better in colder climates. They lie closer to the head than single combs, keeping them warmer, increasing circulation, and decreasing the chance of frostbite. It is a good idea to get rose combed breeds if you live in a cold climate.

    But still, they can look rough this time of year. Not serious, but they can be touched by frostbite, but it will be milder.
