My breeders are a couple of different generations of Dick Horstman stock. This is my first year selling eggs from them.

I just sent Dick an email.

shelleyb,
You have some of Dick's newer stuff it looks like. When did you get your birds from him, with in the last 4 years?

Chris

I hatched my original stock 2 years ago and have been working on them ever since. I didn't buy my hatching eggs directly from Dick...I bought them from a fellow BYC'er who's stock was directly from Dick. I've been working on my flock for 2 years now, with lots of setbacks and obstacles. But I'm finally at a point where I can somewhat relax and enjoy them. The work continues, but it's getting easier.

Yup, that should be some of his newer stuff, well out the new rooster at the time.

The rooster in the last picture I posted should be out of the same line. ( mine is just relay sun faded

) the others are out of his old stock.

I believe what the OP is referring to is a Rhode Island Red X Delaware cross. I crossed a Delaware rooster over a Rosecomb RIR hen and hatched out some "Rhodels". Of course they were just "mutts", and I really didn't gain anything from the cross-breeding.

My "Rhodels" were single combed.

Rhodels? Meaning, a cross between RIR and Rosecomb RIR.

This is what the OP said. No mention of Delawares.
