That must of been something to see did you get it on video? Id love to see the ducky breakdancing lol. One of my Ancona's named Han solo would take the wash cloth and shove it back in the hole lol. No one takes baths really except the animals so I don't have a plug and just shove a wash cloth in the drain lol. She used to watch me take it out and set it on the side of the tub and one day the phone rang and I went to answer it and came back in and she had took the wash cloth and put it over top of the drain lol. It was too funny. I think a dark walnut stain would look beautiful. Maybe a waterproofer for decks? I know my mom did a water proof stain thing to our deck. It was water proof but a stain also. It worked really good.

lol...sadly I don't have any video. I sure wish I had taken some of it!!!....and a lot of other stuff they did! DANG!!! I am starting to take video of them though.

My camera hates the indoors and action, so I missed a bunch of shots and most are blurry, but here's one to give you an idea....

. What made it so funny to me was all the rest of the duckies would just be acting sad still....not moving much, but not that one...lol. It would be just going nuts....looked like breakdancing...lol. I have a pile bath photos....I might have better ones.

That's real funny about your duck and the wash cloth!!!....lol. Smart duck! Animals are awesome! I love stories like that! ...and just witnessing the stuff they do everyday. I'm a newb at 3/4 of the stuff in my sig....I laugh all day long!!! A waterproofer for decks might be just the thing I should use! I'll look into it! I am just getting into woodworking....making decorative signs, furniture and such. I know about as much on it as incubating at the moment....NOT MUCH...lol.

Lol no I probably buy another incubator. I'm only incubating the Pekins eggs because they are free and I don't do anything with them so I figured they would be perfect trail and error eggs. I want to get good at hatching before next spring as I plan on hatching eggs from all my breeds and selling them as most of my breeds are not even heard of where I live. It seems all they have are Muscovy or Pekin or calls. I already have Pekin and aren't interested in the other two. Thanks he sure is getting handsome.

Exactly what I am doing on incubating....trial and error now...working kinks out for next spring when I have turkey and duck eggs to hatch, besides chickens which I really don't need any more right now. I'll probably add geese next year, so won't have any of them to hatch for awhile. I have a hen that went broody about this time last year, she might be useful. Plus I may have to buy an actual incubator....lol.

...a few from today. Sorry so many! About 9 1/2 weeks old I believe now.

possibly two couples racing???....

I think it is neat how the water doesn't seem to even touch them.

My darkest one. Always was darker, even as a little baby.

Too bad I'd have loved to see it. I can almost picture it with the pic you uploaded. I'm still new at this stuff too. I've had ducks for over a year but still I'm pretty new. That's so funny because like all the guys I know are really good at that stuff my dad could practically be a carpenter. I'm pretty good at it too better than most females I know. Its gotta be from all them tech classes I took in school lol. I'm the opposite I have to know a bit about everything except cars that's just something I will never learn lol. Geese should be fun. My 3 are arriving tom and I'm super stoked! Better than spending good money on some eggs and not even knowing if they are gonna hatch. I love how big they are getting. If you notice some of them should be getting white up their wing feathers them are the boys. And it looks like you got quite a few of them. Some of the females get it too but not like the boys do.

Real cute little ducklings there, Tessaturtle! Looks like they have a good spot to have fun!

That same duck goes the craziest in the pond! ...by far the craziest!!! I don't know much about mechanics! I'm having to learn putting up my own hay now though. I like horses. Like that sayin' goes...if they are standing, you're good to go...ha. Awesome you are getting geese!!! That'll be fun raising them up for sure I bet! I can't wait to do it!

When you mean white up the wing feathers, do you mean the red circled area below or the blue circled area? I just noticed a few are really changing in the red area this evening....I just took that pic this evening. I swear you type to look for something and it appears on my ducks while I'm in here reading it!...lol.

Again totally jealous I'd love to have horses just don't have any room for them now. I'm super excited for my geese they are running all over the bank right now. My mom picked them up this morning from the post office and is bringing them to my house on her lunch break. Lol too funny yes the red area is what I'm talking about. It looks like that ones a male. My females wings did the same thing but they didn't go up that far just the tips changed.

Actually, neither of those areas can be used to sex them...the tertial coverts (which can) are covered by the scapulars in the red area. Neither the white on the secondaries nor the secondary coverts can, and not the edging on the tertials.
