Rouen Duck thread

Pretty sure there are exhibition and production rouens. Exhibition being larger like what you are wanting. My rouens' bodies look just like yours. Pretty sure they are plain old production ones. Any experts feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes. Exhibition Rouens are used for showing and meat- they have very large keels and are block-shaped, standing almost horizontally. They lay 35-125 eggs per year, and are 8.5-10 lbs.
Production Rouens lay 100-180 eggs per year, and are shaped more like wild Mallards. They are 6.5-8.5 lbs.

I think my female Rouen laid an egg, y boys found this in our yard. All other bars rock hens lay smaller brown eggs

Hello, people. I have had my Rouen drake for a couple of years. He's normally colorful, as in the attached photo, but recently, he molted into a completely drab guy. Even his normally metallic green head is now dull and almost black. I hope his normal colors come back!

Handsome drake! He's going through his summer molt and getting new feathers, he will be drab colored until his new flight feathers grow in, then he will shed the drab camouflage and then grow in his bright colors.
