I have 3 Rouen ducks they all have the same coloration. They are about 20 weeks old. I haven't seen any Drake feathers or other markings that I can see that indicate they are Drakes. Can anyone tell the sex from the attached pictures.
I am not certain that they are not Mallards. I bought them from Tractor Supply. They were just labeled as ducks. On thier chart it had Rouens but not Mallards so I assumed they were Rouens. Not having anything to compare them to I cannot tell. I have noticed that they aren't really heavy but I thought that was because they aren't mature yet. How old should they be when they start laying? They are about 20 weeks old now. I noticed them inspecting the nest boxes yesterday. That is the first time I have seen them take an interest in the nests.I have raised chickens but this is my first experience with ducks.I really enjoy them. I enjoy watching them bathe when I change thier water every afternoon.
Thanks very much. How do I tell the difference?
