Thank you! Yes, she definitely doesn't have the blue in her wing. I was looking around and I think she might look like a Khaki Campbell. As far as the drake I looked up the silver appleyard drake and yes, that looks just like him!!! Thank you so much.

Your very welcome. I was thinking a khaki Campbell too but she has them stripes by her eyes and khakis don't have that. Which makes makes me think mallard or Rouen because they do have the eye stripes. You are truly blessed with that silver appleyard. They aren't all that common and I can tell you I'm deff a bit jealous lol.

Edited to add: is it possible that she could be a khaki and Rouen cross?

We have a khaki/mallard mix which looks just like her. I would say she is this mix. If I get around to taking her photo, I will post it for comparison.

Thanks! That would be great.

I was reading about the silver appledrake. How exciting!

She could possibly be a cross. We got her from a farm back in May and she was less than a week old.

Well then that's probably what she is, is some sort of cross. Hopefully learningstill duck will look like yours. Then you'll have figured out just what your breeds are.

Actually now that I think about it he could also be a welsh harlequin drake. How big is he compared to your Rouen? Is he a bit smaller or about the same size?

He's about the same size. His head just turned fully green a bout 2 weeks ago. His bill is not very yellow. Does that change as they get older? I looked at images of the silver applyard drake and the welsh harlequin, they look so much alike. hmm. wonder what this guys is?

Hmm do you have any duckling pictures? Did you have them since they were ducklings? If so just Google ducklings of the silver appleyard and of the welsh. I'm sure you could determine it from duckling pictures.

Blessedholler,

When I took the photos I noticed that our little Vanilla Bean now has green colored feathers. They were like a bronze. Her white stripes also got thicker. What do you think?

Now, I have a question about a drake that was sold to us as a khaki, but he has blue feathers and a blue -yellow bill. What do you guys think?
His name is Pecan

They are pretty. I think our girl has some of the same coloring as the second picture of Pecan. Her line near her eyes isn't as dark as Pecan's. Thanks for posting the pictures!

Here is a picture of 3 of our ducks as ducklings. The Rouen drake is a couple of weeks older and wasn't with them.

So we were told that the lighter one was the Blue Swedish (the one that might be a Khaki / mallard / Roune), The Black and Yellow was the Rouen (she was) and the almost all black with just a little bit of yellow on his breast was a Black Swedish (the one that might be a silver appleyard or welsh).
