After the bath

If you don't already have ducks I'd suggest getting 2 so they have company. They are very well tempered. Mine are supper friendly but all my ducks are. If you spend a lot of time with them they will be friendly. Yes they are loud. Females are anyway.

Okay, then I might want to rethink my duck breed choice (because the neighbours don't appreciate the sounds of poultry). lol Any suggested duck breeds that are Small, friendly, not very loud, and could interact with chickens (if its possible)?
Thanks!

The smallest duck breeds I have are khaki Campbell's, welsh harlequin, and 1 runner. My runner is a boy so not sure how loud they get but my khakis are quieter than my other ducks. My welsh harlequins are kinda loud.

My hen still adding to the never growing nest for a week now. Prolly gonna set 7-8 tomorrow in bator with 2 dz+ guinea eggs.

Remeber Drakes get overly protective of their females during mating season. I have a drake that won't let ANY birds near his mate. Young or old. Duck chicken and turkey all get ran off. And I have some big roosters and a super dominant Guinea that puts roos in place but runs from the drake. He's smallest male of any of my breeding age birds and meaner than any others (To poultry anyway). Almost afraid to let the female set on a nest if he's THAT bad. Unless I pen him during last few days and awhile after hatch.

What gorgoues pics 3 acres! I love the first one.
Thank you! It's been fun watching them swim in the evenings and taking pics!

Sounds like I will have forgotten I probably don't have all females by the time any drakes start looking like drakes....lol. Off to play with my group of female Rouens....
