Rouen Duck thread

Very cute ducks! I always buy my ducks sexed, I encourage people to do the same. It only cost 2 extra doller per duck (most times) and you can get all female. Not that I don't love my drakes

I think a lot of people buy from local tractor supplies/feed stores like I did. Around here there is only st run unfortunately.

I've read somewhere a few times that boys will be fine together as long as there aren't females around for them to compete over. Anyone that knows more please correct me if I'm wrong.

3 week old Rouen ducklings, Im hoping that they are male and female. If they are both drakes, will they still be bestfriends.

Ps im new and dont fully understand how to do everything on here, haha. Thank you to anyone who replies.

My boys get along fine with a female, so I think it's really the personality of the duck. 2 of my boys hang around a female an never mate her, then my other 3 boys hang together and when they see the female they run around mating her

Ah, yes my first 5 were from a feed store, but after awhile I wanted pretty ducks so I order form online so I can get them sexed

so this started out as a bald spot on (what I think is my drake's) head...it now looks to be sprouting white fuzz/feathers.....is this normal or something I should have looked at?

Yay a rouen thread! So I posted this somewhere else too but I was wondering if anyone had any advise about my rouen having too many eggs to hatch in her nest? Yesterday I counted 37! I didn't even know she was still laying, I thought she was just sitting on them.

Wow.... I'm not sure.... That's a lot of eggs! I hope you don't get 37 ducklings!!! You'd have to find home for a lot of them

My babies are now 6 weeks old. Their blue Speculum feathers are showing more and more. question is.. One of their "butts" seems larger than the other. Like more full and longer. Does that show a difference in sex?

Oh boy my ducklings are now 6 weeks old. Man they grow so flipping fast!! Guesses on gender anyone. (Btw ik it's a little early and I already have a pretty good idea what the genders are)
