My ducks are around a month old now... and I'm curious... do Rouens not quack as loudly as Pekins? So far I seem to have one female and 5 drakes...

I'm 90% one of them is a male, but these other two I'm not certain...

My babies are six weeks old now and taking their time giving me sex indicators. Both are still peeping but I've heard one make some honky sounds but only when really excited. The other is really vocal but sounds like Donald Duck. The "honker" is getting a dark line down the bill but both of their bills seems to be getting darker.

I can't stand it anymore!

I'm hardly an expert, but I've seen your pictures and I think that maybe you have two drakes. The one female that we do have quacks very loud and very noticeably different from the boys.

Both of yours bill colors look like two of the boys we have and their green heads are starting to grow in this week at 10 weeks old.

A friend of my husbands has 2 free 6 week old drakes. I'm considering taking them. We have a large RIR roo, a guinea hen and 6 misc standard sized hens. They stay in a 10'x10' coop (shed) with access to a 10'x10' covered pen when they r not free range during daylight hours on our 2 acres (and our neighbors 2 acres with their 21 hens and their neighbors 6 hens! Lol). Do u think there will be problems? Our current poultry roost on the roost and in the rafters. I've read if we just keep them bachelors, they should b ok. I'm just concerned about them with the hens or our roo (he's not known to b aggressive).

Hi all. (Hope this is okay to post)
My 2 are about 6ish weeks old (according to what we were told when we fot them). Just wanted to join in on the thread and maybe get some input as i fear i might have 2 males but can not dream of parting with either as i have grown attached but wonder if they would fight of both kept?

Nibbler by far the bigger of the 2 still peeps and has a high pitch squak when not getting her way (holding hope she is a she) and has a lighter bill.

King Bob is smaller and has been honking for a few weeks now with a darker beak and altho given the same amout of attention does not like being held/handled as much.

Any help based on this? Or maybe when we should be able to tell?

The one in front is king bob and nibbler in the back.
