I need help gendering these two rouen ducks. I'm pretty sure they are 4-5 weeks old. Is that too early to determine their gender? What are some ways to determine gender in rouen ducks?

Hello! Welcome to BYC! I am guessing they are both females they look exactly how my Rouen, Margarito looked like when she was a baby, Then again its easier to sex rouen's when they are 6 weeks. So take this with a grain of salt.
Ok thank you so much! Since you have a rouen, do you have any tips to owning them? How old is Margarito now?

Sorry for really late response, Margarito is almost a year old! Rouen's are easy to be friends with, you will know if you have a good bond with them when you bend down and they come to you and start quacking. They eat ALOT of greens, Meaning they will easily devour a bunch of grass which can make your coop look dry like a desert, but other than that it's really easy to take care of them here's a little photo of her.

Hi I couldn't tell what mine is yet? The bill is starting to turn colors I think. Well it is greenish and there's a blue stripes on the wing. If she's a girl.. She hangs out with the chickens that hatched with her in the incubator. Could I take her if she's a girl to the other ducks. I have a chocolate runner that's sitting on a next and I have a rouen drake and a female rouen as well.

I have ducklings that are almost 4 weeks old. And the one im wondering about is 8 weeks old. I just can't remember how the drake changed colors.. I was thinking about processing at least one of the ducks and drake if there is another drake... but I'm playing the waiting game and watching how cute they are. We have a pond but it needs serious work. I want a natural pond but my husband thinks it'll be more expensive and I feel.like we've already put too much money into it. But once it's done it will be beautiful. It was hand dug so I think that's why he doesn't want to put any more effort in that part but the ducks like it sometimes. Sometimes it's low and we refill or the rain does. That last photo is the duck I was asking about.. it's probably a female I keep thinking it is anyway lmk what you think.

Males have a yellow bill, whereas females have an orange bill but I just don't remember the time frame of that development. So greenish might be indicative of the change to yellow. Here's my boy Ragnar.

Idk I'm leaning toward female. So we lost the female rouen, I think something got it. Can't find her anywhere. So anyway the drake and the other are getting along fine I think.. the drake slept last night on the outside of the a frame while the duck was on the inside. Anyway another of our duck a chocolate runner hatched some rouens and now I need to know of I should make an enclosure since we have turkeys and other chickens running around.. I'll have to get a better picture.
